Beach Activities and Water Sports in Bali

The island of Bali is known for its clear waters and beautiful beaches. Most of the tourists and vacationers that travel there go to experience the wonderful beaches of the island paradise. Its sandy white beaches are a perfect contrast to the palm trees that line up the shore. The beaches of Bali are known as one of the best surfing hot spots in the world but there are also a multitude of beach activities and water sports available in the island.
There are beaches all over the island that cater to all kinds of beach visitors. Most of the beaches with the highest cliffs and biggest waves are reserved for the surfers and jumpers. These surfers visit the island to experience waves and waters that are not found anywhere else in the world. There are waves in Bali that reach almost three stories high. The best spots for surfing are found off the coast of Kuta, Legian, Canggu and the Bukit peninsula.
For the casual vacationers, there are shallow white beaches where your family and your children can play around and have fun all day long. Most of the waters here are shallow and safe, making it perfect for families and tourists with children. Among the best beach spots for the casual beach visitors are located in Jimbaran Bay and in almost all the beaches off of the north coast of the island.
There are also several spots designated for diving and snorkeling. The clear and warm waters of the Bali beaches make diving there a unique and wonderful experience. The most popular diving sites are found at Tumbalen, in the east, where there is a sunken ship, the USAT Liberty. There are also the coral reefs in Padang Bai and Menjangan Island, where tourists can scuba dive or snorkel and enjoy beautiful marine life.
Another popular water sport in Bali is fishing. There are several fishing activities hosted in the island of Bali such as trolling, bottom fishing and jigging. There are available charters that can take you to the most popular fishing spots in the island. Most of the popular fishing points are usually found in Benoa harbor and Serangan in Kuta.
There are also several white water sports activities available in the island, mostly in Ubud, but these activities are limited to the rainy season when the water is high enough. Then of course, there is the Waterbom, Bali’s very own water park found in Ji Kartika Plaza in Kuta. There are so many things to do in waters and beaches of Bali that you may never leave.
