Best Tourist Destinations in Bali

There are many different places to visit in the island of Bali. The island is known for its sandy white beaches and many tourist destinations. Thousands upon thousands of vacationers and travelers visit the island to experience the Balinese waters and the local culture. Most of the best tourist spots are also accessible to through local transportation. Here are some of the top tourist destinations to visit in the island of Bali:
- Sanur Beach: Sanur Beach is among the most popular beach destinations in the city of Denpasar. The white beaches are surrounded by palm trees and there are reef formations just off the coast of the beaches that protect the beach from huge waves. There are also several hotels and resorts found just up shore from the beaches.
- Tampak Siring: One of the sacred Springs of Tirta Empul is located in Tampak Siring near Ubud. It is among the most revered locations in the island. The waters in the spring are used by locals for luck and good health. There are also several festivals and ceremonies held in the sacred spring.
- Goa Lawah: Roughly translated, Goa Lawah means the cave of Bats. The cave is located just a few kilometers from Klungkung and features thousands of Bats. There are so many bats packed into this cave that they hang from all of the walls and ceilings in the cave. The cave is said to vibrate when all of the bats start to move and fly away.
- Besakih: Besikah is known as the mother temple of Bali. There are over 20,000 temples in the island but Besikah is renowned because it is one of the biggest and holiest temples in the country. It is located almost 1,000 meters up the side of Mount Agung. One of the biggest festivals on the island is celebrated in Besikah.
- Kuta: Kuta is known as the tourist capital of Bali. Aside from having one of the best beach spots for surfers, it also features among the island’s best spas, resorts, hotels, and restaurants. It is also full of tourist facilities and shopping centers. Most tour guides are also found in Kuta.
- Celuk: The village of Celuk is known for the local jewelry shops and art studios. The city is full of goldsmiths and silversmiths that make all kinds of rings, bracelets, and necklaces. There is also a huge showroom in the village that showcases the talent and skill of the local craftsmen.
