Enjoying the Water in Bali

The island of Bali is considered to be one of the most visited island destinations, year in and year out. On average, the island received around 2.5 million tourists every year. Most of these tourists visit Bali for its renowned beaches and tourist destinations in and around its coasts. The beaches of Bali are famous because of its pristine white sand, nearby hotel and resort accommodations, and the warm waters and magnificent waves.
But aside from surfing, swimming and sun-bathing, there are several other beach activities in Bali. Because of the various ports and harbors in the island, there are several cruises made available. These cruises provide accommodations as well as transportation to many of the tourist spots in Bali. There are day trips that can take you the wonderful coral reefs that surround the island, and there are also stopovers at the very best white sand beaches of Bali.
You can also enjoy the coral reefs in the beaches of Bali by diving and snorkeling. Locations in Jimabaran Bay, Sanur, or Tanjung Sanoa Beach offer to rent out diving and snorkeling equipment to tourists and travelers. You can rent the equipment, either at the beachfront itself, or at beach clubs where there are dive centers for tourists. Most of these centers have guides that can take you out by boat to the best diving sites on the island.
There are also companies in the island that feature parasailing over the beaches of Bali. Most of the best parasailing spots are found at the beaches in Sanur and Tanjung Sanoa Beach, and these trips can take you as far out as the Nua Lembongan island. Parasailing in Bali is one of the most luxurious things you can do, but it is relatively cheap compared to other beach destinations.
Other water sports in the island include renting out jet skis, boats and water skis. You can usually find these in tourist centers in the beaches. There are also hotels that rent out equipment such as these to their hotel guests. Tourist centers in Sanur, Tanjung Sanoa and Kuta have facilities that rent out such water sports equipment.
Water sports in the island are not limited to the beaches and coasts. There is Bali’s only waterslide park, the WaterBom. It is located in the gardens of Ji Kartika Plaza inside Kuta. There is also white water rafting in the rivers of Telaga Waja, Unda and Agung. However, rafting is only available in the rainy season, when the water is high enough to traverse.
